EMOJI Z.O- Smiley or Smile?

Emoji is the Gen Z language. From daily ‘Good morning texts’ with a ❤ to that occasional 'What is happening? ๐’ text (now 5 times daily) we can’t imagine our world without them. The world has also changed to our needs and now emojis have entered the workplace ๐ฅ. Brands are also slowly evolving into this world of emojis and using them to publicize their products (since they know what we like ๐). Dominos will now send you a pizza if you tweet-๐. Visual communication has become the future of workplace communications. (We won!)
As Gen X looked at fax like its ancient history, we do the same with emails.๐คท Why should I send a long email explaining that I’ve accepted a deal and make it sound bland and boring when I can easily just send a text – We got the deal ๐.
Do you know what precious resource emoji saves the most? Time⏳! Fewer words can actually increase understanding (and fun) and save our time. One study ๐ found that incorporating visual tools like video, screenshots, GIFs, and emojis (๐)in business operations amounted to $167 billion in saved time, reduced misinterpretation, and increased profitability. ๐ฏ
HISTORY, KNOW MY ORIGIN
Did you guys know that emojis are also Gen Z? ๐ฎ They were born in 1999! (we’re the coolest)Created in Japan by a developer, emojis originally meant pictograms only used to convey the meaning of a particular word due to its similarity to that physical object. (feelings came later ๐ฌ). The name combines two Japanese words: “e” (picture) and “moji” (character). From Japan, the emojis spread like ๐ฅ to the rest of the world and became so essential that today we’re writing a blog on them๐.
Emojis are fun and everything but did you know that they have been a reason for controversies and fights ( is this smiling or is it just mad at me?) around the world? ๐
Controversial as we all know, is often a euphemism for "interesting and intelligent." This might appear to you as a lie, but the controversies on emoji have proved it.
Have you ever wanted a pile of poop frowning at you? ๐Well, the smiling poop almost got a partner—a frowning partner. The frowning poop emoji was proposed in August 2017, 10 years after the creation of its smiling partner. The Unicode Consortium asked its members what they thought about the proposed emoji, and some thought it was just too uncool.
Smiling poop was manageable, but frowning poop? Absolutely not! ๐ They believe the creation of the frowning poop emoji will lead to the creation of more poop emoji (Did you ever imagine that poop could be a reason for controversy, and you say it’s just an emoji? ๐)
The next is a well-known controversy of Apple which found itself under investigation in Russia over suspicions of promoting gay propaganda.๐ถ Apple was not actively promoting same-sex marriage. Their LGBT emoji simply seemed to run afoul of Russia’s laws, which forbid the use of LGBT signs and images.
Apple never missed the opportunity to be in the news. One of the prominent opponents of Apple’s LGBT emoji was Vitaly Milonov, the representative of St. Petersburg. He wanted Apple to either release a special version of the iPhone without LGBT emoji for the Russian market or label the iPhone as an 18+ gadget. (What!!๐ฎ)
Emojis are powerful storytelling tools, those little symbols may say much more than we realize. ๐ต
NEW GEN Z EMOJIS
Coming to the best part now! ๐
The ‘new Gen Z’ emojis we all want!!!
Yes guys, we made these ๐
These emojis depict our daily quarantine (every day) routine. The pizza emoji shows us eating shamelessly our 4th slice of pizza (All day eating and no workout ๐) The Netflix emoji is us at 5 in the morning when we are still not over with binge-watching. (O Bella ciao, Bella ciao, Bella ciao ciao ciao) That emoji with the headphones? It's us listening to that one song on loop for the 300th time and remembering our ex๐ณ And the last feeling cute emoji when we receive cute texts from that one special person (Sad, if you don't ๐)
